Advent 2021 will be intentionally contemplative at the parish. The spirit of the season, full of watchful and hope-filled attentiveness, lends itself to contemplative practice unlike any other time of the year.
Parish activity at St. Joseph in Advent — apart from Our Lady of Guadalupe Festival — will be limited to encouraging folks to attend our weeknight contemplative sessions at 6pm.
Some pastoral team members will be practicing the contemplative spirit in a special way in the first week of Advent, heading off to the Trappist Holy Cross Abbey in Berryville, VA for a silent retreat. We hope all will clear some space for God’s silent presence during these special, and all-too-short season.
