150th Anniversary Planning Underway

The parish staff and parish council are immersed in planning for our special 150th Anniversary Year that is now underway. We will kick off with a special bi-lingual Mass for the feast of St. Joseph on Thursday, March 19 at 7:00 pm. The presider and preacher will be Fr. Edwin Leahy, OSB, Headmaster of St. Benedict’s Prep in Newark, NJ. Our church was founded by Benedictine monks from Fr. Leahy’s same Newark Abbey in 1876.   Joanne Mild is organizing a special “Anniversary Choir” for the event.  Light refreshments will be served.  Our youth leaders will serve as greeters, and will distribute any commemorative items that may be offered for the Mass.

Looking further down the calendar, May 1, 2026 is the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker, and another special event is envisioned, although details have yet to be finalized. Again, we’d have an evening bi-lingual Mass, this time at 6pm or 6:30pm, with a meal to follow at a local venue.

In the fall, discussion has begun for a BBQ on church grounds.

During the year there will be various events to lift up various parish groups and leaders.
