Mining a Spiritual Classic This Summer

For two evenings this summer (Tuesdays July 25 and August 29) our Contemplative Elders fellowship, along with any interested parishioners or visitors, will discuss the 13th-century work On Loving God, by the great Cisterican (Trappist) monk and saint, Bernard of Clairvaux.

As our Contemplative Elder movement at the parish is steeped in Cistercian experiences and spirituality, we thought it is an appropriate time to introduce first-hand sources of the Cistercian charism, and Bernard is an obvious gem.

The On Loving God books are available at the parish office for a suggested offering of $20, and the two sessions begin at 7:30pm on those Tuesday evenings.

Our parish Contemplative Elders meet every last Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm.  New members are always welcome!

Our next meeting, a planning meeting for the next year, is Tuesday, June 27 in the church.   We’ll plan our calendar through the Contemplative Elders retreat at Mepkin Abbey, SC next April 2024.
