Thanksgiving, Advent Approaching

As we approach the end of the church year, we still have a few special events to look forward to in the last few weeks of November.  These include:

Thursday, November 9: Sacrament of Confirmation, administered by Bishop James Checchio to 37 of our parish youth, 7pm.

Saturday, November 11: NO 8am daily Mass; 11am Veterans Day Mass in our St. Joseph parish cemetery; at 5pm that day, our Mass includes a reading of all the parish deceased in the past year.

November 16-18: NeXt Level youth and mentor travel to Indianapolis for the National Catholic Youth Conference event.

Thursday, November 23: special bilingual 9am Thanksgiving Day Mass.  NO evening Mass either Thanksgiving Eve or Thanksgiving Day.

Friday, November 24: last Friday of the month Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, 4-7pm.

Monday, November 27:  Monday evening Lectio Divina resumes again in preparation for Advent, 6pm each Mondays for four consecutive Monday through Dec. 18.

Friday, December 1: First Friday Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, 7am.

Sunday, December 3: Advent begins!

Friday, December 8: Solemnity and Holy Day of the Immaculate Conception. Masses at 8:30am, 12noon, 7:30pm.

Tuesday, December 12: Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, special Masses TBD.

Thursday, December 14: Contemplative of the Month selection: St. John of the Cross.

Monday, December 18, 7pm: “Visio Divina” exercise, using various images placed around the church.

Thursday, December 21: Special St. Sharbel Healing Mass, (especially for those who are depressed or anxious around the Christmas/New Year’s holidays, 7pm bilingual.)
